Geometry through art
Vassili Kandinsky, Russian painter interested in mathematics and precursor of abstraction in painting. Kandinsky's work is full of winks at geometry and mathematics. It is presented as an ideal resource to study mathematical concepts such as angles or positions in the plane of two lines, two circles or a line and a circle. As well as for the study of flat figures such as the triangle, the quadrilateral or the circle, very used by the painter throughout his work. How to work with that? I am going to propose five activities to work geometry through the artworks of Kandinsky. Let´s start! Task 1. Search in the work of Kandinsky parallel, perpendicular and oblique lines.
